Introduction of 6.0

So recently during the vacation, I remembered that I do have a website that I once built from scratch, and it was left running by itself without any updates for over 12 months. While 2022 is approaching and I cannot travel around because of THE virus, it gave me a good excuse/opportunity to pick up this blog and release a major version, in order to celebrate the Year of the Tiger.

Why from 3.x to 6.0

• Because 4 represents bad fortune in Chinese
• Because .NET 5 is not in LTS and the support ends in less than 6 months
• Because 6 is a lucky number in Chinses culture, plus .NET 6 is in LTS and it's supposed to be 🔥The Fastest .NET yet🔥
• Because LFC has 6 champions league titles 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆

Major Front-end Changes in 6.0

• An overall improved UI/UX with a brand new logo

Major Back-end Changes in 6.0

• Code refactoring of over 270 files, merging source code to 1 single repository
• .NET migration from 3.1 to 6.0 including all libraries and applications
• Running az function in .NET isolated process
• Upgrade of solution packages to the latest stable versions, with deprecated packages removed
• Update of Sendgrid service
• Using 6 characters instead of 28 for the blog post ID
• Update of Geolocation service with a more reliable service provider
• Geolocation-based authentication service - supporting Email / Facebook / Google / Microsoft

Bug fixes in 6.0

• Fixed document not found in cosmos DB exception handler
• Fixed get external authentication schemes error
• Fixed cookie error when loading login page with a signed-in user account
