I. Overview

This personal website belongs to Chenlong Hu for no-commercial use only, I’ve made my best effort to meet the EU General Data Protection Regulation(GDPR) so that you will be protected and restricted by the Privacy Policy when entering my blog.
The Privacy Policy describes the personal information I collect, and how to use the information. Please contact me If you have any doubt about it, and I’ll be very thankful for your help.

II. The information I collect

1. Registration material
Registration material when you need to register an account to use the functionalities that require an user account on the website. It might request to collect some information, including username, password, email address, and more with 3rd party login service such as Facebook or Google OAuth2. However, you can freely visit my website’s content without creating an account.

2. Cookies
Web Cookie is a small piece of data sent from a website and stored on the user's computer by the user's web browser while the user is browsing. I use Cookie to follow your watching preference such as the default language of the website, or save your password to avoid re-typing each time you visit the website.
You have the right to accept or reject Cookie. According to your need, you can modify the setting of browser to reject Cookie. If you reject Cookie, you might not be able to experience the entire interactive functions of the website. As a warm reminder, once you accepted the cookie consent, you still have the possibility to revoke the consent at any time you want. For users who bind their 3rd party services accounts to register on my website, I might get and use the related data of the users from these 3rd party services (ex. Facebook login information) through OAuth 2.0 protocol, and potential authentication information might be stored in Cookie as well, just as all the other websites do.

III. The use of users’ information

As a registered user, you don’t need to worry about any potential use of your information such as email address. There is absolutely no use of any personal data on my website.

IV. The security of users’ information

Basically, I followed all the good practices of security measures to protect your personal information with the help of ASP.NET Core Security features. For your account, password is the best guarantee. So, please choose a unique password with high security to prevent others from entering your computer and browser. Also, remember to sign out from time to time especially when you’re visiting with else’s computer.
Although I will take and improve the safety protection measures to protect your personal information, I cannot prevent all potential safety hazards, worst case scenario my website could get breached and your email address might be leaked. Personally I’d recommend you to use your 3rd party accounts to log in such as Google/Facebook.
Once registered, you can download the personal data of your account, and if you decide to remove your account, all your data will be permanently deleted, and your account cannot be recovered.
